The Pensacola solar company that shows you the price.
Every other solar company in this town wants your phone number before you see a number of theirs. Our prices are on this website, part by part, install and all. Look first, then decide if you want to talk to us.
Pensacola has heard enough solar pitches.
This market got burned. A high-pressure sales machine signed up thousands of homeowners around here on financed deals, then shut its doors and shipped the contracts out of state. If that was you, or you watched it happen to a neighbor, your skepticism is earned and we are not going to talk you out of it with a pitch.
Here is what we do instead. The prices are published. The system builder designs a system for your house and shows the real cost, live, with no contact form in the way. The shop in Gulf Breeze is open; come stand in front of the inverter that would go on your wall. And if solar is the wrong move for your house, we say that too.
The shop is veteran owned and locally owned, in a town that knows what both of those mean. Our Google rating is 5.0 across dozens of reviews. Real people, no purchased review farm. Read them before you call.
Three things nobody else here offers.
Prices are published
Every panel, inverter, battery, and kit on this site shows its price. The system builder prices a whole install live. No other solar company in this market does that; check for yourself.
A real shop you can walk into
We stock the equipment in Gulf Breeze. Come look at the inverter before it goes on your wall. Try getting a sales-van company to show you their warehouse.
Licensed install, honest roles
We design and run the job; a state-licensed contractor performs the install and pulls the permit. You know exactly who does what before anyone touches your roof.
Real numbers, dated so you can hold us to them.
Equipment from about $0.94 per watt. Installed with batteries, $2.50 to $3.30 per watt.
Those are mid 2026 figures from real quotes, not teaser rates. A 10.5kW grid-tied equipment package runs near $9,824 in parts; add a battery bank and equipment lands around $1.60 per watt. The full breakdown lives on the Pensacola cost page, and the builder is the price of record for your specific house.
Around here, solar is a storm decision.
Ivan in 2004. Sally in 2020, which parked over Escambia County and left parts of the area dark for most of a week. Everyone in Pensacola has an outage story, and it is usually the real reason people call us, even when they open with a question about the power bill.
So here is the honest version up front: solar panels alone do not keep your lights on in an outage. A grid-tied system without a battery shuts down when the grid does. If backup power is any part of why you are reading this, the design starts with a battery bank sized to your real loads, and the panels recharge it every morning the sun comes up.
The full storm conversation, including battery against generator and what a retrofit on an existing system costs, is on the Pensacola battery backup page.
Doing it yourself? Even better.
A good chunk of our Pensacola customers never book an install. They buy panels by the pallet, EG4 inverters, batteries, racking, and wire from the warehouse, ask questions at the counter, and build it themselves. We like those customers. They come back.
Browse the shop, or read the local equipment page for pickup details, used gear, and what we stock.
Pensacola questions we actually get.
Is Ape Solar a licensed solar installer?
We are the EPC: we design the system, supply the equipment, and manage the project end to end. The physical install is performed by a state-licensed electrical contractor. Advanced Wire Pros (FL license EC13005911) is our primary contractor of record. They pull the permit and carry the license; we own the result.
What does solar cost in Pensacola?
As of mid 2026: equipment for a grid-tied package runs about $0.94 per watt (a 10.5kW package lands near $9,824 in parts), about $1.60 per watt with a battery bank, and $2.50 to $3.30 per watt fully managed and installed with batteries. The system builder on this site is the price of record and shows live numbers for every part.
What happened to Meraki Solar? They installed my system.
Meraki is no longer operating; their contracts were transferred to an out-of-state company. If you have one of their systems and nobody answers the phone anymore, we take those service calls. We will figure out what you have and a licensed pro handles the on-site work.
Does net metering still work with FPL here?
Yes. Pensacola is FPL territory (the old Gulf Power), and a grid-tied system earns credit for the power you export. We size the system against your actual twelve months of bills so the credits are real, not brochure math.
Do I need a battery, or just panels?
Panels alone cut the bill but shut off in an outage. That surprises people every hurricane season. If any part of why you are calling is Sally-style outages, plan on at least a small battery bank. We will size it to what you actually want to keep running.
Can I buy the equipment from you and install it myself?
Yes. We are a real shop with a warehouse in Gulf Breeze. Panels, EG4 inverters, batteries, racking, wire, and complete kits, all at published prices. We will tell you plainly which parts of the job need a licensed electrician.
How long does an install take in Escambia County?
The roof work is days. Permitting and FPL interconnection dominate the calendar and typically run some weeks. We manage all of it and you see the status the whole way.
Will you tell me if solar is a bad idea for my house?
Yes, and we do it regularly. Heavy shade, a roof near the end of its life, or a bill too small to justify the spend all get an honest no. Repeat customers are the business model; a bad install is not.
What is the federal tax credit situation?
The residential federal credit (Section 25D) expired at the end of 2025, and we never bake credits into pricing anyway. Every number we publish is the real price. If an incentive exists when you buy, it is a bonus, never a crutch for the math.
Where are you located?
