Roof replacement on a house with solar?
We pull the panels, store them safe, and put them back up after the new roof goes on. We've handled removals and reinstalls across the Florida panhandle since 2024. Most installers won't touch this kind of job. We do. One number to call.
Why this is its own kind of job.
Every R&R is two jobs glued to a third. There's the removal, the reinstall, and the part nobody talks about: keeping the system honest while it sits on pallets in your garage.
Panels are fragile. Microinverters get wet. Wire gets bent. Roof penetrations that worked the first time can leak the second time if the flashing isn't redone right. Done sloppy, you get warranty headaches a year later. Done right, the system comes back online the day after the roof's finished and behaves like it never moved.
One price, whole job.
$200 per panel. $225 for very steep roofs.
That covers removal, on-site storage, reinstall, recommissioning, and a functional test before we leave. New roof attachments and flashing on every penetration are included in the per-panel price. Steep roofs that need extra fall protection run $225. No surprise add-ons after the work starts.
How it works.
- 1
Tell us about the job
Fill out the quote form or call. We need the brand and count of your panels, the kind of inverter you have (string, microinverters, or a hybrid), what year it was installed, and roughly when your roofer is scheduled. Photos help.

We pull the panels and the gear, label every wire
Our crew gets there before your roofer does. Panels come down, racking comes off, and we map and label every connection so the system goes back exactly where it was. Panels get stored on pallets, wrapped, on your property if you have room, in our shop if you don’t.

Your roofer does the roof
This isn’t our job and we don’t pretend it is. Your roofer puts on the new roof on their timeline. We coordinate so you don’t have to play telephone between two crews.

Panels go back up, system comes back online
New roof in, panels back on, racking re-anchored with fresh flashing and sealant. Every connection re-torqued. System recommissioned, monitoring confirmed, production checked against the original spec. The day we leave is the day your power bill goes back to normal.
What's included.
- →Removal of panels, racking, and rooftop conduit
- →Labeling and mapping of every connection
- →On-site or off-site storage for up to 60 days
- →Reinstall after roof completion
- →New roof attachments and flashing (we redo every penetration; the old ones don’t go back)
- →Recommissioning, functional test, monitoring check
- →A walkthrough with you before we leave so you can see the production live
What's not.
- ·The new roof. That’s between you and your roofer.
- ·New equipment, unless you want to upgrade while the system is down. If you do, we can quote panels, inverters, or batteries at the same time.
- ·Permits, unless your jurisdiction requires a new permit for the reinstall. Most don’t. We tell you up front if yours does.
The best time to upgrade.
The roof is open, the system is apart, the crew is already there. A few of the upgrades our customers ask about during R&R:
Newer, higher-output panels
Ten-year-old panels probably make 240W. Today’s panels make 460W. Same roof, more power, no extra labor.
A battery
If you’ve been thinking about backup power, the install is half the cost when the system is already off the roof.
A hybrid inverter
Older string inverters tied to the grid die. A hybrid runs your house through an outage and gets ready for storage later.
We'll quote the upgrade options on the same proposal. Take them, leave them, or ask us to do half. Your call.
Tell us about the job.
The more you can tell us, the tighter the quote. We send a price for the whole job inside one business day.

Common questions.
How long does the whole thing take?
Roof replacement timelines vary, but the parts we control are quick. Removal is usually one day. Reinstall is one to two days after the new roof is on. Most R&R jobs are done end-to-end in three to four weeks counting your roofer’s schedule.
Do you warranty the work?
Yes. Our workmanship is covered for one year on the reinstall: penetrations, wiring, mounts. If we did it and it leaks, we come back and fix it. The panels and inverters keep their original manufacturer warranties (we don’t void anything by handling them).
What if my panels are old or my inverter is dying?
Sometimes the right answer is to put the system back as-is. Sometimes it’s to upgrade pieces of it. Sometimes the whole system is past its life and a full replacement makes more sense than a reinstall. We tell you what we’d do if it was our house.
Do you work with my roofer?
Always. We’ve been on jobs with most of the roofers in the panhandle. If yours hasn’t worked with us before, we introduce ourselves and coordinate dates. You shouldn’t have to play middleman.
What if someone else installed my system and they’re gone?
That’s most of our R&R customers. The original company is out of business, the salesman is unreachable, the warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. We take the job, figure out the system, and put it back the way it should have been the first time.
Do you do R&R outside the Florida panhandle?
Right now, no. We handle the panhandle and parts of south Alabama directly. For other markets, we can sometimes recommend a local crew. Email us with your zip code.
We do more than one thing.
