Wire, cable, and connectors. The conductors that carry the power and the parts that terminate every run.
10 and 8 AWG for the array, pre-made PV wire sets, and 2/0 cable for the battery bank.
A matched 100 ft black and red pair of 10 AWG PV wire for the long runs on a ground mount or a spread-out array. The stranded copper conductor carries sunlight-rated, UL 4703 insulation good to 2000V and 90°C in wet or dry locations, built to live outdoors. Cut to length with bare ends so you can add your own MC4 connectors.
2/0 AWG wire set, 8 feet, pre-terminated with lugs at both ends. Sold as a matched pair (black and red). Sized for high-current DC connections between a battery bank and an inverter on a 48V residential off-grid or hybrid build. The 8-foot length is the longest pre-cut option, for installs where the battery cabinet and inverter sit across a room from each other. If you need longer, look at custom-cut bulk 2/0 with field-crimped lugs.
A paralleling cable kit for adding another battery into an existing bank. It includes a matched red positive and black negative cable with heavy stranded copper conductors and lugged ends sized for high continuous current. Each additional battery in a parallel string needs its own kit.
A matched 75 ft black and red pair of 10 AWG PV wire for longer home runs from the array to the combiner or inverter. The stranded copper conductor is wrapped in sunlight-rated, UL 4703 PV insulation rated to 2000V and 90°C in wet or dry locations. Cut to length with bare ends so you can crimp MC4 connectors to suit the job.
2/0 AWG wire set, 6 feet, pre-terminated with lugs at both ends. Sold as a matched pair (black and red). Sized for high-current DC connections between a battery bank and an inverter on a 48V residential off-grid or hybrid build. The 6-foot length suits installs where the battery cabinet and inverter sit a short run apart, e.g. on adjacent walls of a utility room.
A matched 50 ft black and red pair of 10 AWG PV wire for the home runs and string wiring on a solar array. The stranded copper conductor carries sunlight-rated, UL 4703 insulation good to 2000V and 90°C in wet or dry locations, so it stands up to the roof and the weather. Cut to length with bare ends so you can land your own MC4 connectors.
2/0 AWG wire set, 3 feet, pre-terminated with lugs at both ends. Sold as a matched pair (black and red). Sized for high-current DC connections between a battery bank and an inverter on a 48V residential off-grid or hybrid build. The 3-foot length suits installs where the inverter sits right next to the battery cabinet. For longer runs, see the 6 ft and 8 ft sets.
2 AWG single-conductor copper wire, sold by the foot. For high-current AC feeder and inverter grid-port runs where you want to buy only what you need instead of a full spool. Copper only, never aluminum.
8 AWG single-conductor wire, black, sold by the foot. For higher-current DC and AC runs where you want to buy only what you need.
8 AWG single-conductor wire, red, sold by the foot. For higher-current DC and AC runs where you want to buy only what you need.
10 AWG single-conductor wire, black, sold by the foot. For DC and AC system runs where you want to buy only what you need instead of a full spool.
10 AWG single-conductor wire, red, sold by the foot. For DC and AC system runs where you want to buy only what you need instead of a full spool.
A small metal clip that holds the PV lead to the panel in place of a zip tie, so the wires stay put under the array. Sold by the clip, so buy what the job needs. Our install crew figures 2 to 3 per panel.
Five-hundred-foot PV spools and 8 AWG spools for home runs and jobs bigger than a single kit.
8 AWG wire spool, black. The step up from 10 AWG for higher-current DC runs or longer voltage-drop-sensitive runs. Pair with the matching red spool for positive runs.
8 AWG wire spool, red. The step up from 10 AWG for higher-current DC runs or longer voltage-drop-sensitive runs. Pair with the matching black spool for negative runs.
10 AWG PV wire spool, black. UV-stabilized sunlight-resistant insulation, 600V DC rated. Use for module-to-module jumpers, combiner home runs, or branch circuits inside a string. Pair with the matching red spool for positive runs.
10 AWG PV wire spool, red. UV-stabilized sunlight-resistant insulation, 600V DC rated. Red is the positive-polarity convention. Pair with the matching black spool for negative runs.
MC4 connectors, Y-branches, and the small parts that finish a run.
This is the male field-wireable connector for Enphase’s 12 AWG Q Cable. It lets you put a fresh plug on a cut end of cable in the field, so you can run cable through conduit or between sub-arrays and terminate it where you need to instead of being locked to factory connector spacing. It mates with the matching female Q connector or any open connector on the Q Cable trunk.
Y-branch MC4 connector. Combines two PV strings into one home-run cable on the array side, so you don't have to run a separate combiner box for two parallel strings. Sold as the male-and-female pair. Use when two strings are wired in parallel and the total string current still fits within the home-run wire ampacity. For three or more parallel strings, step up to a fused combiner box.
A single MC4 connector. The standard connector used at module-to-module and module-to-string-wire joints across the solar industry. Locking design and a 600V DC rating that matches most modern module Voc. Sold individually. The general rule for an array is 3 connectors per string (two for the string connections plus one spare for a botched crimp), plus extras for any home-run terminations and any future array expansion.
The builder lists every cable and connector your system needs, sized to spec.
