The Emporia Classic is a Level 2 home charger in black, wired to stay put with a standard J1772 plug on a 25 foot cable. Hardwired, it delivers up to 48 amps at 240 volts, or 11.5 kW, which adds real range in a couple of hours instead of overnight. It wants a dedicated 60 amp double-pole breaker at that setting. The housing is a watertight NEMA Type 4 enclosure, so it mounts on an inside garage wall or out in the weather, and it is rated to run from minus 22F all the way to 122F. It connects over 2.4 GHz WiFi to the Emporia app, carries a UL 2594 listing and an Energy Star rating, and comes with a 3 year warranty. What earns its keep is the app control. You can set it to charge during off-peak hours when power is cheapest, watch the real-time charging rate, and pull a monthly charging report to see what the car actually cost you. Pair it with Emporia's Vue energy monitor and the charger will read your whole panel and trim its own amperage so a big load, like the AC and the dryer running at once, does not trip the main breaker. That load management is what lets a lot of homes add a 48 amp charger without paying for a service upgrade.

This is Emporia's Level 2 home charger in white, wired straight into a 60-amp double-pole breaker instead of running off a plug. It pushes up to 48 amps, 11.5 kW at 240 volts, roughly nine times faster than the cord that came with the car. The amperage is adjustable from 6 to 48, the connector is the standard J1772 that fits every non-Tesla EV (and a Tesla with the adapter), and the cable runs 25 feet with a wall holster. The case is NEMA Type 4, sealed against rain and rated from 22 below zero to 122 Fahrenheit, so it lives happily on an outside wall or in the garage. It runs from the Emporia app over Wi-Fi and carries a 3-year warranty. What sets this bundle apart is the Emporia Vue energy monitor packed in the box. It clamps into your panel and reads the whole house in real time, then tells the charger to back off when the dryer and the AC are both pulling hard. Wired to a dedicated 60-amp breaker it pulls up to 48 amps and delivers 11.5 kW at 240 volts, which is real Level 2 speed. The cord is 25 feet, long enough to reach across a two-car garage or over to the far side of a driveway. The case is NEMA Type 4, rated for indoor or outdoor mounting, and it runs from -22 F to 122 F, so a Florida summer or a cold snap is no trouble. It talks to your phone over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, carries a UL 2594 safety listing and an Energy Star rating, and Emporia backs it with a 3-year warranty. The part that earns its keep is PowerSmart. In the box is a Vue Home Energy Monitor that clips into your electrical panel and reads what the whole house is drawing. The charger uses that reading to raise or lower its charge rate on the fly, so it takes all the power that is safely available and eases off when the dryer and the AC kick on at the same time. For a lot of homes that means you skip a panel upgrade and still charge at full speed, and you can set schedules to fill up on off-peak rates. Because it is hardwired, it also sidesteps the nuisance GFCI tripping that can nag a plug-in unit sitting on a GFCI breaker.
