Get Canopy on your phone

Canopy shows what your system is doing right now: solar coming in, battery level, what the house is pulling, and whether the grid is up. Turn on outage alerts and it tells you when the power drops at your house, and again when it comes back.

Who gets Canopy.

Canopy comes with the systems we commission. We set up your account then, and you sign in with the email we have on file for you. There is no password. Not sure yours is set up? Call 850-530-1872 and we will check.

No app store needed. Canopy installs from your browser to your home screen and opens like any other app.

Put it on your phone.

iPhone

Use Safari

  1. 1Open canopy.apesolar.com in Safari.
  2. 2Tap the Share button (the square with the arrow), then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  3. 3Close Safari and open Canopy from the new icon on your home screen.
  4. 4Type your email and tap Email me a sign-in link.
  5. 5Open the email and type the one-time code into Canopy. Skip the button in the email: on iPhone it signs you in to Safari, not the app.
  6. 6Tap Turn on outage alerts, then Allow.

Outage alerts on iPhone need iOS 16.4 or newer, and they only work when you open Canopy from the home-screen icon.

Android

Use Chrome

  1. 1Open canopy.apesolar.com in Chrome.
  2. 2Type your email and tap Email me a sign-in link.
  3. 3Type the one-time code from the email into Canopy.
  4. 4Tap the menu (three dots, top right), then Install app or Add to home screen.
  5. 5Open Canopy from the new icon, tap Turn on outage alerts, then Allow.

Sign in before you install. Chrome only offers Install app once you are signed in.

On a computer, go to canopy.apesolar.com and sign in the same way. The button in the email works fine there when you read the email on that same computer.

If something goes sideways.

No email showed up.
Check spam first. If it is not there, that address is not on a Canopy account yet. Call 850-530-1872 and we will set it up.
The code did not work.
Codes expire fast, and only the newest one counts. Ask for a fresh email and use that code.
It says my login does not have access yet.
Your sign-in worked, but your system is not linked to it yet. Call or text 850-530-1872 and we will connect it.
Notifications are blocked.
Open your phone settings, find Canopy under Notifications, and allow them. Then open Canopy and tap Turn on outage alerts again.
Is Canopy in the App Store or Google Play?
Not yet. The home-screen version is the full app, it updates on its own, and on iPhone it is the version that gets outage alerts.
