EG4 12kPV Hybrid Inverter

$4,049per each

One box that runs solar, a battery bank, and the grid. 8kW continuous output, up to 15kW of solar input across two MPPT trackers, and a 10ms transfer when the grid drops. Same architecture and firmware as the EG4 18kPV, in a smaller package built for most homes.

Overview

One box. Solar, battery, and grid.

The EG4 12kPV is a 48V split-phase hybrid inverter that runs solar, a battery bank, and the grid through a single unit. It puts out 8kW continuous, takes up to 15kW of PV in across two MPPT trackers, and switches over in 10ms when the grid drops. It shares its architecture and firmware with the EG4 18kPV, so it is a smaller, lower-cost path to the same proven platform.

What it does well

8kW continuous output

Steady power for a whole home or a small business, with the headroom to charge batteries off any leftover solar.

Up to 15kW of solar input

Two MPPT trackers handle a 12kW working array (15kW max) with high-voltage and high-amperage strings, so the system keeps producing as shade shifts.

Built for backup

A 10ms transfer time and RSD/ESS shutdown compliance keep loads running and equipment protected when the grid goes down.

Handles tough loads

Manages a 4,000W imbalance for 30 minutes and a 134A surge, so well pumps, AC, and shop tools start without tripping.

Off-grid or grid-tied

The split-phase hybrid design supports off-grid, grid-tied with battery backup, and generator input. Sell power back or keep it all.

Parallel to 10 units

Start with one and stack up to ten for 80kW total. The system scales with the loads, not the other way around.

Where it fits

The 12kPV is the inverter we reach for on most single-family backup and net-metered jobs that do not need the full 18kPV output. It also handles off-grid builds and light commercial systems that want room to grow. If you need more output per unit, look at the EG4 18kPV.
